The Mahaska County Supervisors for November 7, 2011
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Monday morning in the supervisors meeting room. The Supervisors first took care of their normal housekeeping duties of agenda approvals and paying bills.
The Supervisors then took up the matter of several personnel changes at the Mahaska County Jail, Mahaska County Attorney’s Office, Maintenance Department, and Secondary Road Department.
The Cost Advisory Services Report was approved unanimously by the board.
Both of the Veterans Reports for the month and quarter were approved.
The Supervisors re-approved the appointments to the Board for the Mahaska County Landfill.
The Mahaska County Supervisors examined the final plans for the V13 (255th to 275) paving project. The 2.44 miles of new pavement will be south of Rose Hill and will come in at a cost of 1.6 million dollars.
Two bridge projects were discussed. One project covers a bridge over Bluff Creek on G-73 and the second is for Rutledge Avenue over the tributary of Middle Creek. The funds for those projects are being helped by Federal Aid Funds. The combined cost of replacing the two bridges is estimated at $450,000.00.
