Lorelda F.Frazier, age 86, of Albia, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice.

Lorelda was born on July 11, 1931, to Charles D. and Ella M. (Eaton) Tarbell in Appanoose County.

Lorelda attended and graduated from Moravia High School with the Class of 1949.

On June 27, 1954, Lorelda was united in marriage to Keith Frazier at the Methodist Church in Albia. To this union 2 children were born, Sheila and Sheryl. They shared 33 years of marriage prior to Keith’s passing on January 2, 1988.

Lorelda worked in Des Moines at the Telephone Company and also at the Monroe Care Center in Albia.

Lorelda was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia where she was active in her Bible study group. She enjoyed being outdoors, reading, sewing, collecting angels and butterflies, and watching television, especially Wheel of Fortune. Lorelda’s biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.

Lorelda is survived by 2 daughters: Sheila (& Tim) Ryan of Albia and Sheryl (& Barry) Scieszinski of Pella; 3 grandchildren: Jeffrey (& Krista) Scieszinski of Des Moines, Cathy (& Daniel) Ray of Pella, and Shawn (& Jessica) Ryan of Ankeny; 5 great-grandchildren: Callie and Kenzie (& Jeff), Connor and Owen (& Cathy), and Ericka (& Shawn); a brother, Loal Tarbell of Centerville; and a sister, Veletta Jolly of Adel; 2 sisters-in-law: Olive Jean Tarbell of Centerville and Brenda Paris of Centerville; a brother-in-law, Raymond Ferren of Centerville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her parents, Charles and Ella; sisters: Doralea Tarbell, Truis Turner, Florene Marlin, and Veon Ferren; and brothers: Truman, Mansel, Delbert, and Ivyl Tarbell.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with Pastor Roger Henry officiating.
Burial will follow services at Union Chapel Cemetery in Monroe County.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Lorelda’s family present from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.
A memorial has been established to Union Chapel Cemetery.
