Loebsack Announces $150,000 USDA Loan for Barnes City

Congressman Dave Loebsack

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack announced today that Barnes City has been awarded an $150,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Facilities Direct Loans program. The funding will be used to purchase a used pumper truck for the city and surrounding areas. The truck will replace an existing 1980 pumper truck which is beginning to have high maintenance costs.

“Rural Development grants provide vital equipment and services to residents and support economic development efforts in communities,” said Loebsack. “This funding will ensure that Barnes City is able to secure the resources they need to respond quickly to emergencies and keep our families and communities safe. I am pleased that USDA has awarded Barnes City this competitive funding.”
