Linda Lemke, 61, of Kellogg, died Friday, February 6, 2015, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born September 4, 1953, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Deal and Josephine Stellges Keasling, Sr.

Linda graduated from Fremont High School with the class of 1971. On September 9, 1972, she was united in marriage to David Lemke at Ewart, Iowa.

Early in life Linda worked at DeLong Mfg. in Grinnell. Later she worked as dietician at the Grinnell Hospital. She also worked as a waitress at the truck stops in Malcom and Brooklyn, Maid Rite, Reames Foods in Pella, the meat packing plant in Sigourney, Newton National Management managing apartments, and at McDonald’s in Newton, Grinnell and Colfax.

Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, gambling and going to flea markets.

Her family includes her husband, David Lemke of Kellogg; a daughter, Patricia (& Jason) Harland of Oskaloosa; a son, Lance Lemke of Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren: Kearstin Shipman, Austin Lemke, Brett Woods, Zach Kitzman, Chase Anderson, Electra Anderson, and Lance Lemke, Jr.; a step daughter, Angie Sims of Sully; two step grandchildren, Paige Eilander and Kodie Waggoner; two sisters: Dorothy Knowler (& Charles Lippard) of Sigourney and Donna (& Patrick) Shea of Rose Hill; two brothers: John (& Gail) Keasling of Fremont and Joe (& Linda) Keasling of Hayesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Dewane and Deal “Leroy” Keasling.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 6 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Tim Morgan officiating.
As a final gift of generosity, Linda’s body has been donated to the University Of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
Visitation will begin Tuesday morning after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. Tuesday until service time at 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the the family.
