Kitty Kristine Burton, age 57, of Montezuma, passed away on June 13, 2018, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell, Iowa. Kitty was born on September 6, 1960 to Jim and Carolyne (Gray) King in Albia, Iowa.
Kitty grew up and attended Albia High School.
Kitty was a homemaker for most of her life, raising and taking care of her children.
She enjoyed being outdoors, swimming and laying out. She loved her dog “Jackson”, watching movies, especially Westerns, The Big Bang Theory and having sleep overs with her grandchildren. Above all, she enjoyed spending time and sharing a laugh with her family and friends.
Kitty is survived by her children: Angela Sprouse, Heather (& Kadeem) Hendon, Jephthah Burton, and Dillon Cook, all of Poweshiek County; her grandchildren: Christian, Moriah, Heaven, Makhi, Jackson and Jadon; and her brother, Darin (& Pauline) King of Bronson, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Carolyne; her step-parents; a brother, David King; and a nephew, Shawn King.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Tharp Funeral Home with Kitty’s family present from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.
A memorial has been established to the family.
