Kimberly Sue Dayton, 58, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born Saturday, December 26, 1959, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Roma Matteson Dayton.

Kimberly attended school and grew up in Grinnell.

Following school, Kimberly worked at various jobs in Grinnell and then moved to Marshalltown. In Marshalltown she worked at a commercial cleaning and maintenance business.

Kimberly had a big heart, especially for animals, and demonstrated that when caring for her cats. She loved antiques, working on and restoring her Victorian home. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Kimberly was generous and very helpful and always had a big smile.

She is survived by her sister, (Loretta) Lori McCartney of Beacon; and her brother, Clark Dayton of Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother-in-law, Jeffrey McCartney.

As was her wish, Kimberly’s body has been cremated.
