Kenneth LeRoy Richards, age 72, of Albia, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at his home in Albia. He was born on January 11, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Kenneth grew up and attended school in Indianapolis until 8th grade and later received his GED.

Kenneth joined the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War.

On August 1, 1966, he was united in marriage to Vivian Hardy in Rock Island, Illinois. To this union 2 children were born, Kenneth Lee and Daniel Jason.

Kenneth worked as a tool and die machinist for various companies before becoming an over the road truck driver and finally worked at the VA Hospital in Knoxville in the housekeeping department until his retirement.

He enjoyed being outdoors, doing things such as fishing and hunting. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Vivian Richards; his 2 sons: Kenneth Lee (& Debbie) Richards and Daniel Jason Richards; and his 4 grandchildren: Lora, Destiny, Josh and Tasha.

As was Kenneth’s wish, his body will be cremated.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials have been established to the family to be determined at a later date.
