Judith Widmer, 75, of Malcom, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Judith Kay Widmer, the daughter of Francis “Bill” and Virginia Troth Ritter was born on February 23, 1944 at St. Francis Hospital in Grinnell, Iowa, weighing only two pounds. From early on, she was a fighter.

Judie attended the Grinnell Schools.

Judie was united in marriage to Robert Widmer on June 3, 1962 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Judie and Bob were the parents of three children; Kim, Kevin and Kathy.

Judie helped Bob on the farm raising many baby calves. Judie was a wonderful cook and enjoyed providing meals to everyone working on the farm. Judie worked at Montezuma Super Valu, Sutherlands and the Mayflower for many years.

She enjoyed reading, animals, competing in horse shows, and dogs. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren and watching their events. Judie was a member of the Presbyterian Evangelical Church, Farm Bureau, KEN Club, Forest Home Club and the Deep River Presbyterian Church.

Judie is survived by her husband, Robert, of Malcom; her children, Kim (Bruce) Wehrle of Montezuma, Kevin Widmer of Malcom, and Kathy Hart of LaPorte City, Iowa; her seven grandchildren; Morgan Berstler, Jake Berstler, Mary Barlow, Robert Widmer, Jessica (Travis) Mott, Dylan Felderman and Aidan Felderman; her two great grandchildren, Shane Mott and Henry Barlow; and many nephews, nieces and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Ritter in infancy; and a son-in-law, Kevin Hart.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church in Montezuma. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church at Montezuma beginning at noon with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma First Presbyterian Evangelical Church or the Malcom Fire Department.
