Jones, Laudermilch Earn January Booster Club POM Honors

Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of the January Player of the Month awards.

Senior basketball player Torren Jones (Chandler, Ariz., Sociology) claimed the Male award, while freshman track and field athlete Asia Laudermilch (Oskaloosa, Iowa, Physical Education) took home the Female honor. The award is the first for both athletes.

In nine games, Jones averaged 18.6 points and 11.7 rebounds in addition to 10 assists, eight steals, and five blocks. He shot 44.9% from the field and 74.2% from the free-throw line. The senior reached double figures in all nine games (high of 32 points) and posted seven double-doubles (high of 17 rebounds twice).

Laudermilch competed in five events in three meets during January. She broke the school record in the 55 (7.43 seconds) and the 60-meter dash (7.99 seconds). The freshman won two competitions and placed in the top five in two others. She also a top 200 time of 27.01 seconds.
