Jim Fisk, 83 of Montezuma passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 9, 2018 at the Brooklyn Community Estates. Jim D. Fisk, the son of Harvey and Ethel (Warren) Fisk, was born on June 18, 1935 west of New Sharon, Iowa.

Jim attended country school before graduating from Montezuma High School in 1954.

On December 3, 1955, Jim was united in marriage to Donna Johnson at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma. To this union four children were born: Bev, Daniel, Judy and David “Jimmy”.

Jim was a lifelong farmer and farmed near Barnes City before purchasing the farm just east of Montezuma in 1970. Jim was a hard worker and loved his time he spent working on the farm. He started Fisk Farms Trucking in 1979 hauling feeder pigs and then seed corn in 1996.

Jim enjoyed coffeetime with friends, road trips, going to truck shows, spending time at the Iowa State Fair and tractor pulls. He was a member of the Montezuma Jaycee’s, Montezuma Flying Club, Montezuma Masonic Lodge and the Montezuma United Methodist Church.

Jim’s legacy will be cherished by his three children: Bev (& Jim) Smothers of Montezuma, Judy (& Steve) Audas of Montezuma and David “Jimmy” (& Jennifer) Fisk of Montezuma; his eight grandchildren: Michael (& Natalie) Smothers, Mindy (& James) McNaul, Brant (& Ceara) Smothers, Stephanie (& Cody Meinecke) Audas, Julie (& Briar) Awtry, Jameson (& Kayla) Fisk, Cameron (& Danielle Bidwell) Fisk and Braxton (& Emily) Fisk; 12 great grandchildren, with one on the way; two sisters, Mary Lou Mann of Montezuma and Sherrill (& Ray) Anderson of Eldora, IA; a brother-in-law, Duane (& Jackie) Johnson of Danville, IN; two sisters-in-law, Bette Johnson of Lincoln, NE and Darlene (& David) Deweese of Rancho Mirage, CA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Fisk in 2014; a stillborn son, Daniel James Fisk; and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Mann and Delon Johnson.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Friday, September 14, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church in Montezuma.
Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church with the family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Volunteer Fire Department.
