Jeff Stanford, 67 of Montezuma passed away peacefully Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Mercy Hospice House in Johnston, Iowa. Jeffrey Floyd Stanford, the son of Mayo and Geraldine (Harry) Stanford, was born on July 10, 1950 in Grinnell, Iowa.

Jeff graduated from Montezuma High School in 1968. Following graduation, Jeff attended Barber College in Cedar Rapids.

On June 9, 1984, Jeff was united in marriage to Debby Allen at the Montezuma United Methodist Church.

Jeff was a barber for 47 years and barbered with his dad for a few years. He was the co-owner of Iowa Barber Shop in Grinnell for 39 years.

Jeff was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed golfing. Family was very important to Jeff. He was very close to his siblings and enjoyed attending every one his children’s sporting events. Jeff was a member of the Montezuma Country Club and the Montezuma United Methodist Church.

His memory will be honored by his wife, Debby Stanford of Montezuma; his children: Chad (& Sue) Stanford of West Des Moines, Amy (& Ryan) Higgins of Oskaloosa and Bryan (& Liz Mosbach) Stanford of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren: Keegan Van Devender, Kiersten Van Devender, Haley Higgins, Caleb Stanford, Cole Stanford, Olivia Stanford and Sophia Stanford; a brother, Barry (& Tracy) Stanford of Grinnell; three sisters: Judi (& Bruce) Roorda of Montezuma, Jo Beth (& Phil) Paulsen of Aurora, MO and Paula Williams of Loveland, CO; a brother-in-law, Bruce (& Karen) Allen of Ruskin, FL; and many other relatives and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo and Geraldine Stanford; and parents-in-law, Max and Neva Allen.

Memorial services will begin at 10:30 am Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Burial of his cremains will be held at a later date in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice House in Johnston or the Montezuma Fire Department.
Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
