Iowa, ISU, UNI strength coaches headline Central clinic

PELLA — Chris Doyle, Yancy McKnight and Jed Smith, head football strength and conditioning coaches at the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa, respectively, will be among the professionals featured at the Central College Strength and Conditioning Clinic Sunday, April 29 at the Vermeer Science Center, on the corner of West Third and University Street in Pella.

The clinic is open to high school and college athletes and coaches. Cost is $50 for coaches and $25 for students. Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. and the clinic runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost includes lunch at the Central Market. Participants may register at the door.

Doyle, McKnight and Smith will give one-hour presentations. Also featured are Patrick Dooley of Sterling Physical Therapy, speaking on soft tissue and joint mobilization and Cody Roberts of Bradley University, on Bradley sports performance.

The event is a National Athletic Trainers Association-approved clinic for 6.0 continuing education units. The clinic is partially sponsored by Sterling Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy, P.C. of Pella.
