Idle Statesmen Dropped Three Spots
Oskaloosa–The William Penn football team, which did not even see the field last weekend, somehow still lost ground in the standings as the NAIA released its fifth top-25 poll Monday, sponsored by STADIONIC.
WPU (5-1, 2-0 Heart North) has fallen to No. 21. It marks the 13th straight time the navy and gold have been featured in the top 25.
Five Heart of America Athletic Conference programs are again featured in the ranking. Benedictine leads the group at No. 3, while Grand View is No. 4 and Baker is No. 23. MidAmerica Nazarene is also in the receiving votes section.
College of Idaho remains first in the NAIA with nine first-place votes, while Keiser (Fla.) is second with the last four top ballots. Montana Tech finishes off the top five at No. 5.
WPU returns to action Saturday in Canton, Mo. to take on Culver-Stockton in a Heart North division game at 12:30 p.m.
