GRINNELL, Iowa – For the second year in a row, Grinnell College’s Alissa Hirsh ’16 has capped off a stellar season by being named to the All-Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball First Team.

Hirsh, a 5-5 guard from Skokie, Ill. (Niles North), rewrote the Pioneer record book this season. She became the program’s all-time leader in assists with 367 while also ranking third in career scoring with 1,289 points and fifth in steals with 144.

She led the MWC in assists with 111, ranked third in field goal percentage at 49.1 percent, third in assist/turnover ratio at 1.7 and was sixth in scoring at 14.4 points a contest.

Hirsh played a big role in the Pioneers going 12-6 in league play, the most conference wins in program history. They also won 15 games overall, which ranks among the best ever.

Lana Wieseman of Beloit College was named the MWC Player of the Year, while St. Norbert College’s Connie Tilley was tabbed Coach of the Year.
