Grinnell receives All-Academic honors from USTFCCCA

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Sarina Kopf ’22 and Agne Lukoseviciute ’21 were stellar both in the competition arena and off it in the 2019-20 track and field season, and have been rewarded for their efforts.

The Grinnell duo claimed All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (UWTFCCCA). To earn the honor, an athlete must have competed in an NCAA Division III national championship or finished the regular season ranked in the top 50 nationally in an individual event and have a GPA of 3.30 or higher.

Both Grinnell athletes established school records this season. Lukoseviciute finished her indoor season ranked first in the region in the weight throw and sixth nationally with a toss of 60-3 1/4. Kopf, ranked second in the region in the pole vault and 31st nationally, had a season-best of 11-7 1/4.

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s men’s and women’s track and field squads were honored as All-Academic teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA).

To earn the honor, a squad must have a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Each Pioneer team was well over the minimum, with the coach Will Freeman’s men combining for a GPA of 3.51 and coach Evelyn Freeman’s women a mark of 3.55.

In all, 359 teams were honored with 209 on the women’s side and 150 for the men.
