Grinnell Hands Oskaloosa Early Season Loss
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Grinnell Tigers came to town and handed the Oskaloosa Indians boys basketball team an early-season loss.
The Indians never could break away from the Tigers, and the game was kept close, with the Indians holding a slim margin at halftime.
Oskaloosa outscored the Grinnell 19-14 in the first quarter, with Grinnell responding to outscore Oskaloosa in the second quarter 16-12, making a halftime score of 31-30 in favor of the Indians.
In the third quarter, the Tigers added 5 more points than the Indians and were leading by 4 heading into the fourth quarter of play.
Oskaloosa outscored Grinnell 8-4 in the final quarter of regulation, and the game was headed to overtime.
During overtime, the Tigers outscored the Indians 6-2 to topple the top-ranked Indians 56-52.
