Florence Stanbro, 86, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born December 15, 1930, in Evans, Iowa, the daughter of Harley B. and Myrtle Nelson Stanbro.

Florence attended school in Mahaska County.

Early on she worked various places in Oskaloosa. Last, she worked in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn in Ottumwa.

Florence was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Oskaloosa.

Her family includes a brother, Grant Stanbro of Washington State; a sister in law, Nora Stanbro of Oskaloosa; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Jan and John Allard of Oskaloosa.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elvin Stanbro; and three sisters: Frances Waddle, Jessie Clark, and Beulah Schwab.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverends Adrian Wolf and John Allard officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 9:30 and continue until service time at 11 on Thursday morning.
Memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Church in Oskaloosa.
