Fighting Cancer Together

These 8 firefighters sport their freshly shaven heads in support of Alexis Christenson, daughter of Oskaloosa Fire Captain Dave Christenson.
Oskaloosa, Iowa — Firefighters are a brotherhood, and when one of their own has a scourge like cancer impact one of those families, they do what they always do, support their own.
On Sunday morning, right at shift change, Oskaloosa firefighters got together to show support for Alexis Christenson. Alexis is the daughter of Captain Dave Christenson of the Oskaloosa Fire Department.
So, with clippers and razors in hand, 8 Oskaloosa firefighters took their turn in the chair to have their heads shaved to show support for Alexis. Each making a donation not only of hair, but from their wallet as well.
The firefighters also have bracelets and pins available for sale to help raise those needed funds to help in the fight. Contact a firefighter for more information on obtaining one of those.
There is also a benefit for Alexis planned to take place at the VFW on November 21st beginning at 10 a.m. The plan is to have live music, food, drinks and an auction.
