Eads Earns NWCA Academic Award

Oskaloosa–Joe Eads (So., Morrison, Ill., Biology) not only excelled on the mat this season, but was also strong in the classroom as he earned NWCA NAIA Scholar All-America recognition.

The sophomore, who placed seventh at 149 pounds at last month’s NAIA National Championships, also owns a current Grade Point Average of 3.38. It is the first NWCA laurel for Eads, who finished the year with a 27-18 record, including 20 falls.

To be eligible for the award, individuals must have attended the nominating institution for at least one full semester. They then must own a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and have won 60% of their matches OR own a 3.0 GPA and be an All-American. Eads met the criteria both ways.
