E911 Board Agrees To Explore Possible Merger
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The E911 Board met Tuesday night at the Mahaska County Courthouse to discuss a proposal from Mahaska County Emergency Managment (MCEM). That proposal was to explore the possibility of consolidation and/or shared management of the two organizations.
The E911 Board voted in favor of continued exploration, and agreed to MCEM’s proposal to draft a new 28E agreement.
Three members from MCEM were chosen at their last meeting to be a part of the 28E committee, and the E911 Board did the same.
Advertisements had already been placed by the E911 Board to hire a new director for the 911 center. The process of collecting those applications will proceed, even in the event a new 28E agreement can’t be reached.
