PELLA—After winning the American Rivers Conference individual championship, Central College women’s golfer Brittany Coppess (senior, Clinton) was named the

American Rivers Conference female athlete of the week and women’s golfer of the week.

Coppess also was named the conference MVP for her effort over the weekend.

Recording a three-day total of 231 (80-76-75), Coppess won the title by one-hole playoff after Sunday’s fourth round was cancelled. Coppess shot a par on the 18th hole while Daniela Miranda (University of Dubuque) recorded a bogey.

The Dutch also won the team title in a tie-breaking playoff format by firing a better team score on the 18th than the Spartans. The two teams were tied at 980 after 54 holes.

The final competition of the fall will be October 22-23 at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate Invitational in Kohler, Wis.
