Donna Kempf, 66, of What Cheer, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 10, 2017 at her home. Donna Gayle Kempf was born January 17, 1951 in rural What Cheer to Carl and Roberta (Bobi) Hartwig.
Donna married Dwight Danner Sr. October 5, 1970. To this union, 4 children were born, Roy, Crystal, Dwight Jr. (DJ), and Jeremy. They later divorced. She later married Gary Kempf Sr. They later divorced.
Donna lived in What Cheer most of her life. She graduated from Tri-County Schools in 1969. She was a homemaker for many years. Later she worked at Wal-Mart in Oskaloosa, Pella Products in New Sharon, Montezuma Manufacturing, United States Census, and First Resources in Sigourney.
Donna was a member of the What Cheer Christian Church, was active in the Iowa SIDS Foundation, and was a member of the What Cheer Commercial Club. She enjoyed volunteering for the What Cheer Flea Markets and Keokuk County Fairs. Donna spent many hours working at the various ball field concessions for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and collecting items with Aunt Jackie to sell during the flea markets.
Donna is survived by two sons: Roy Charles Danner II of What Cheer and DJ (& Chrystal) Danner of What Cheer; two stepsons: Gary Alvin (& Baylee) Kempf Jr. of Union Mills and Aaron Wade (& Holly) Kempf of What Cheer; twelve grandchildren: Austin, Ethan, Riley, Adam, Zeb, Caleb, Carly, Dominic, Eleanora (Ellie), Carl, Evee, and Greyson; a sister-in-law, Vicky Hartwig; her aunts: June Leydens and Jackie Culp; an uncle, Daryl Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Crystal Danner; her son, Jeremy Danner; her grandson, Johnathon; her sister, Carlene; and her brother, Dennis.
Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer, with her son Pastor DJ Danner officiating.
Burial will be in the Garrett Cemetery at Delta.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
