Donald Lane, Jr. 60, of Grinnell died May 29, 2011, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. There are no services planned. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Donald Lane Memorial Fund.

Donnie was born March 15, 1951, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Donald and Loretta Lane, Sr. He was raised in South Bend and received his education there.

Following his education he was employed as a welder for Breman Iron in South Bend. He later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and worked for a construction company. In 1983, he moved to Grinnell and was employed at DeLongs. He retired in 1993 due to health reasons.

Donnie enjoyed fishing, watching the History Channel, playing with his dogs, and working in his yard. He also enjoyed watching sports and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears.

Survivors include his companion, Kathy Querry of Grinnell and a brother, Richard Lane of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
