Diane Broerman
Oskaloosa. Diane Marie Broerman, 55, of Oskaloosa passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home near Oskaloosa, on Friday, April 20, 2012. Diane’s life began in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 22, 1956, the daughter of Howard and JoAnn Wray Mottet. She graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1975; she furthered her education at the University of Iowa. It was while attending the University of Iowa she met her future husband Michael Broerman. Diane and Mike were united in marriage on December 30, 1978, in Dyersville, Iowa. They moved back to Oskaloosa where they raised their three daughters, Jessica, Jamie and Megan. Early on, Diane worked as an x-ray technician. After her daughters graduated, she worked with Mike as a bookkeeper at McCoy, Faulkner and Broerman Law Firm in Oskaloosa and as an associate in Mrs. DeRonde’s life skills room at Oskaloosa Senior High School until 2009. Diane truly delighted in spending time with her family; she enjoyed her time at home while raising their three daughters. When she and Mike became grandparents, she found a new level of joy as the pitter patter of six (soon to be eight) grandchildren began to be heard around the house. She was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church in Oskaloosa. Her spiritual faith and church family gave her comfort in every phase of her life.
Her family includes her husband, Michael Broerman of Oskaloosa; three daughters and their husbands, Jessica and Mike Fross, Jamie and Ryan Klyn, and Megan and Derrick Simms, all of Oskaloosa; six grandchildren, Heath, Eleanor, Calvin, and Greta Fross, and Rylee and Maddison Klyn; her mother, JoAnn Mottet of Chandler, Arizona; four sisters, Carol (& Jim) Demmer of Asbury, Iowa, Sheryl (& Frank) Roche of Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Lynda (& Steve) McLuen of Norwalk, and Karen (& Ken) Shields of Castle Rock, Colorado; two brothers, Mike (& Nancy) Mottet of Victorville, California and David (& Tami) Mottet of Sycamore, Illinois; her father and mother in law, Roger and Shirley Broerman of Oskaloosa; brothers and sister-in-law, Greg (& Debbie) Broerman of Kenosha, Wisconsin, LeeAnn (& Tom) Christy of Salina, Kansas and David (& Ann) Broerman of Oskaloosa, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
