Deputies Respond To Fatal Accident

Lacey, Iowa – One person was pronounced dead in an apparent single vehicle accident on 170th St. east of Oxford.
Deputies were dispatched to the accident at 12:01 am on April 13th, where a 1997 Ford Truck had been traveling west on 170th Street near Oxford Avenue when the driver lost control and went off the roadway causing the vehicle to roll. The vehicle came to a rest in the south ditch.
The accident remains under investigation and the name of the deceased has been withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, New Sharon Fire and Mahaska Health Partnership.
