Counting Out The Close Of Business Year 2011

Oskaloosa, Iowa – With time running out on 2011, the Mahaska County Supervisors counted out the cash in the Treasurer’s Office located in the Mahaska County Courthouse starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30.

The event is held twice a year, and certifies cash and checks on hand, to help ensure all financial records are correct on behalf of the taxpayer.

The 10 minutes process had Ken Rozenboom counting the cash, while Greg Gordy tallied the checks. With a busy day in the auto department, the process took slightly longer than normal to complete.

With that completed,  the already quiet courthouse became almost desolate as the public and the employees made their way home to count down the end of 2011, and ring in 2012.
