College for Working Adults Commencement

Des Moines, Iowa – William Penn University’s College for Working Adults (CWA) will celebrate the graduation of more than 160 graduates on Sunday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. during the Winter Commencement Ceremony at Hy-Vee Hall in downtown Des Moines.
This year’s commencement speaker will be Clarence Hudson, Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation. Hudson has been active in the Iowa Association of Business and Industry for many years. He is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, served on the St. Pius X School Board, has chaired the United Way Campaign and was President of the Board for the J.B. Morris Scholarship Fund.
Commencement will be followed by the Blue and Gold Ceremony, which welcomes new members into the William Penn University Alumni Association. The circle of the Blue and Gold Ceremony represents the life-long bond of friendship developed during the college experience.
CWA celebrated its 15th anniversary on November 2. They currently have four locations: the main campus in West Des Moines, the Oskaloosa campus, and two satellite locations at the Indian Hills Community College campus in Centerville and the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny.
Students in the CWA program can earn an Associate of Arts degree in Leadership Studies, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice Systems Leadership, General Accounting, Human Resource Management, Insurance Management, or Business Management, and a Master of Business Leadership degree.
