Oskaloosa–Two Statesmen men’s golfers were rewarded for exceptional campaigns as the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference team was announced recently.

Zachary Chegwidden (Jr., Essex, England, Business Management) and Spencer Tucker (Fr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Business Management) were two of the 15 individuals who garnered all-league recognition. The award is the first for Tucker, while Chegwidden ends his career (graduating early) with three all-Heart awards.

All-Heart members include the top five finishers at the league championships as well as the 10 individuals with the lowest scoring averages who were not in the top five.

The duo helped William Penn to one tournament title this year as well as a runner-up finish in the league tournament this past week.

Chegwidden ended his campaign with a 73.8 stroke average in 18 rounds of play. All of his rounds were below 80, including four under par (low of 68). He was in the top 10 in all eight events with one tournament crown.

Chegwidden wrapped up an illustrious career by breaking the program’s career stroke average record at 73.3 in 68.5 rounds. The first All-American in school history, he was also a Heart Player of the Year, a two-time Ping all-region performer, eight-time tournament champion, and seven-time Heart Player of the Week.

Headlined by his fifth-place finish at the Heart Championships, Tucker recorded a 77.1 stroke average in 18 rounds. He posted 16 rounds in the 70s with a low of 71. The freshman managed five top-10 finishes this season.

Nicolas Evangelio of Missouri Valley was tabbed as Heart Player of the Year, while MVC Head Coach Jordan Dickson was named Heart Coach of the Year.
