Central women’s wrestlers grapple at Waldorf Open

FOREST CITY – A difficult field at the Waldorf Open resulted in a frustrating day for the Central College women’s wrestling team Saturday.

The Dutch entered 10 wrestlers, primarily freshmen, and came home with a 5-21 record

Freshman Gia Ritter (Colona, Ill., Geneseo HS) went 2-2 at 131 pounds, including a technical fall victory in her opening match.

At 207 pounds, Selena Snell (sophomore, Kansas City, Mo. University Academy) also went 2-2. She won her second match by fall in the first period and added a win by decision.

Central is off for a week before returning to action on November 22-23 at the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Missouri.
