Central College Flute Ensemble to perform April 19

PELLA, Iowa — Central College’s Flute Ensemble will perform Tuesday, April 19, in Cox-Snow Recital Hall at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Members of the flute ensemble are Joanna Blomquist, freshman from Stuart, Iowa; Amanda Jacobs, freshman from Battle Creek, Mich.; Leah Pieper, freshman from Ankeny, Iowa; and Melissa Selzer, senior from Runnells, Iowa.

The tentatively named Argento Fuoco flute ensemble is under the direction of Claudia Anderson. Anderson is the founder of the flute duo ZAWA! and the chamber initiative New Prairie Camerata. A Fulbright Scholar to Italy, she was the principal flute of the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo in Palermo. Anderson currently serves as flute faculty and program director at Rocky Ridge Music Center and on the faculties of Grinnell College and Central College.
