Carroll Dean Rauch, 68, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Mahaska Health Partnership while under the care of Mahaska Hospice. He was born, Tuesday, June 6, 1950, in Montezuma, the son of Carroll Dean and Helen Jean Short Rauch.

Carroll worked construction for several years. He also worked for a time as a bartender and lastly worked at the Oskaloosa Herald.

Carroll enjoyed mushroom hunting and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. He was a fantastic cook and loved spending time with his family.

His family includes his significant other of 46 years, Belinda Todd of Oskaloosa; two sons: Jamie Rauch and Joshua Todd both of Oskaloosa; two daughters: Jennifer Ashman of New Sharon and Jessica Todd of West Des Moines; three grandchildren: Isaiah, Josiah and Jeremiah Ashman; three brothers: Joe Rauch of Jay, Oklahoma, Danny Bechtel of Marion and Billy (& Lynnette) Bechtel of Oskaloosa; a sister, Anna (& Jim) Breuklander of Oskaloosa; an aunt, Janet Rauch of Deep River; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Rauch; a brother, Gary Rauch; and a sister, Mary Kerr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor John DeBoef officiating.
Burial will be held in Abel Cemetery east of Fremont.
Visitation will begin Tuesday from 10 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel, with the family present at the funeral chapel during that time to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice.
