Carol Osmond, 70, of New Sharon passed away peacefully at her home on November 6, 2017. Carol Lynnette (Johnson) Osmond, was the oldest of Betty (McCampbell) and Junior Green, born January 27, 1947, in Kirksville, MO.

Carol was a 1965 graduate of La Plata High School in La Plata, MO and graduated the top 2% of her class at Northeast Missouri State University in 1968 with honors.

Carol came to Iowa to use her teaching degree in business at North Mahaska High School in New Sharon, where she met Austin Osmond. On July 10, 1971, Carol and Austin were united in marriage at the New Sharon United Methodist Church. To this union two children were born, Eric and Staci.

Carol spent most of her professional life at McCoy, Faulkner and Broerman Law Firm in Oskaloosa. She worked eight years before taking a leave of absence to raise her family. She went back to the law firm and worked a total of 36 years before retiring in the fall of 2015.

Carol absolutely loved to read and had a huge collection of books. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was known for knitting all of her nieces and nephews Christmas stockings. Carol’s faith was a driving force in her life and she was a longtime member of New Sharon United Methodist Church.

Carol is survived by her husband of 46 years, Austin Osmond of New Sharon; two children: Eric Osmond of New Sharon and Staci (& Wil Pantier) Osmond of West Des Moines; and her precious dog daughter Maggie. Carol is also survived by her brother David Green, and his twin sons Brian (& Tabatha) Green, and Brad (& Kelli) Green; her brother John (& Marilyn) Green, and children: Amanda (& David) Springer, and Heath Green; her brother Darrell Green, and his children: Joe Ralston, Jill (& the late Andy) Beautte and Megan (& Jerred) Helm; her brother Gerry (& Vicky) Green, and their daughter Jessica (& Christian) Morales; her sister Judy (& Greg) Williams, and their children: Jackie, Janie and Josh; her brother Kerry Green; and her youngest brother Stuart Green, and his daughter Molly. She was always excited to welcome another great niece or nephew, numbering nineteen: Tyra, Makenzie, Lathe, Tucker, Christian, Emma, Maddy, Maggy, Cassy, Lilly, Luci, Landon, Logan, Miles, Layla, Bradynn, Kamrynn, Jalen and Jamison.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

As was her wish, her body will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Ministries and may be sent to the funeral home to be given to the family at Holland-Coble Funeral Home, P.O. Box 85, New Sharon, Iowa 50207.
