Bonnie Louise Amber, 70, of Ottumwa, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa. She was born Monday, August 25, 1947, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Earl Henry and Fern Luella Stigers Roberts.

Bonnie worked for several years in the nursing home in the Oskaloosa area.

On May 5, 1983, Bonnie was united in marriage to Clifford Amber in Oskaloosa.

Bonnie was a longtime member of ABATE District 14 and they were like her second family. She enjoyed crosswords, coloring and ceramics.

She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Clifford Amber of Ottumwa; two daughters: Connie (& Mike) Cochran of Leighton and Michelle (& Tommy) McFadden of Oskaloosa; two sons: Scott (& Patty) Hampton of Port Orchard, Washington and Gary (& Mandy) Purdy of What Cheer; a sister, Becky (& Randy) Hale of Oskaloosa; a brother, Paul (& Cathy) Roberts of Leighton; 7 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a niece, Jessica Hale of Oskaloosa; and a nephew, Eric Hale of Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Leland and Neva Stigers and Bernard and Edna Loring; and paternal grandparents, Harry and Florence Roberts.

As was her wish, Bonnie’s body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
There will be a memorial at a later date.
Memorials may be made to her family in care of Bates Funeral Chapel.
