Bonita “Bonnie” K. Johnson, 69, of Malcolm, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care in Oskaloosa. She was born Tuesday, January 18, 1949, in Montezuma, the daughter of Vernon Harold and Erma Lou Bineger Davis.

Bonnie graduated from the Montezuma High School. On January 18, 1966, Bonnie was united in marriage to Gary Tolles. To this union, three children were born, Gary, Stephanie and Andrea. Bonnie and Gary later divorced.

Bonnie was a homemaker most of her life. After her children were grown she worked for a time at Mahaska Manor in Oskaloosa.

On May 10, 1990, Bonnie was united in marriage to Charles Johnson and he died on June 27, 2008.

Bonnie enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and sudoku puzzles.

Bonnie is survived by her son: Gary (& Amanda) Tolles of New Sharon; two granddaughters: Keri Tolles and Kayla Tolles; and a grandson: Taylor Legvold; three great grandchildren: Reona, Moriah and Tyson Stout, Jr.; a brother: Gene (& Barbara) Davis of Barnes City; and in-laws: Mona Davis of New Sharon, Dennis (& Roberta) Johnson of Newton, Mary (& Jim) Cocking of West Des Moines, David (& Karen) Johnson of Grand River, Iowa, and Steve (& Sheryl) Johnson of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters: Stephanie and Andrea Tolles; three brothers: Terry, Bill and Rick Davis; and a sister: Debbie Polson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Dave Pinkerton officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
Visitation will begin Thursday, May 17, 2018, after 1 P.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel Thursday from 5-7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Bonnie’s family.
