Ian Barnhart started as a police officer for the Oskaloosa Police Department on July 16, 2018. Ian grew up in Fruitland, Iowa where he attended Louisa-Muscatine JR/SR High School. While in high school Ian was passionate about sports. He participated in basketball, wrestling, track, and football. He was also a part of the school’s student council. After high school, Ian attended Kirkwood Community College and Muscatine Community College with studies in criminal justice. Ian’s parents are Julie and Dave Walter and Matt and Bobbie Barnhart. Over the past few years, Ian has worked various jobs that have led him to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. Ian is also an avid Iowa Hawkeye & Chicago Cubs fan.
