ASA and Athletics Department Partnering to Present Q&A Series
Oskaloosa–The William Penn Association of Student-Athletes is partnering with Athletics Director Nik Rule to answer some vital questions that are coming directly from Statesmen student-athletes.
As the COVID-19 situation has continued to develop, Rule, as well as William Penn coaches and ASA members, noticed they were all receiving similar questions from Statesmen student-athletes. That led Rule to meet with ASA President Madison Lantz to come up with ideas on how to address these questions in a more holistic way. The idea for a video series called ‘Student-Athlete Q&A’ was born from that meeting.
“This was a great idea by our Association of Student-Athletes, one that I am thrilled to help out with,” Rule said. “In this trying time for the world, consistent communication and serving our student-athletes in different mediums is vital. We really miss our students and want them to know that we care and are here for them. This video series is a way for us to reach them during this time of social distancing, to answer their questions and give feedback.”
The video series will include three questions per episode and will last as long as new questions are introduced, with new episodes being released every few days. Lantz serves as the host and will ask the questions, which will be answered by Rule.
“Through this time of uncertainty, the Association of Student-Athletes wanted to continue to make an effort to connect with our student-athletes,” Lantz said. “By creating this video series, it allows us to provide an inside look to unanswered questions. We hope that student-athletes are able to benefit from this and have a sense of relief knowing that all of WPU is in this together.”
In addition to the videos being posted on the ASA Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WilliamPennASA/ and Twitter accounts at https://twitter.com/WilliamPennASA, they will also be available on the Athletic Department’s website at www.statesmenathletics.com and its YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaxqL_pJqSPhjDMpNjv882g.
