Oskaloosa–Zachary Chegwidden (So., Essex, England, Business Management) posted three scores under par to dominate last week’s tourney and net him Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week honors Monday.

Chegwidden won his fourth career laurel (second this year) by taking the individual crown at the Grand View Classic. The sophomore carded rounds of 70, 66, and 69 to best the 54-person field by eight strokes. His eight-under-par score of 205 is a new 54-hole school record, while his 66 matches a career low.

It was Chegwidden’s fifth career title and the first of 2017-2018. He helped the Statesmen to a third-place finish, defeating Heart rivals Grand View and Mount Mercy, both of which are receiving votes nationally.

For the year, Chegwidden owns a 72.3 stroke average over six rounds. He has posted five rounds in the 70s.

The award is the second of the year for William Penn.
