Following high school graduation, he moved to Davenport, Iowa, to work for Ralston Purina. After a few years in Davenport, Ace decided it was time to return to Oskaloosa. He and Eunice were longtime supporters of Oskaloosa Activities, and they especially enjoyed attending events where their grandchildren were participating.
