AARP Sponsors Driver’s Ed. at Library November 9

Oskaloosa Library

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Safe driving is a concern for everyone: drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists sharing the road. On Wednesday, November 9, the Oskaloosa Public Library will be hosting a free, “Safe Driving” class from 1:00-3:00 in the third floor meeting rooms of the library.

Sandra Winkel of Pella will be teaching the course. Winkel is an AARP instructor who has presented similar driving programs in Iowa and Minnesota. The course is being offered during afternoon hours to encourage the attendance of those who no longer drive after dark.

“It’s always good to take a refresher course on basic driving and highway rules, seasonal driving tips, and emergency procedures,” according to Winkel, “and this two-hour course is designed to address concerns that often frustrate experienced, but older drivers.”

While the class is specifically targeting Veterans and seniors, it is free and open to all community members. Pre-registration is not required.
