Stanway Snatches First Weekly Award

Oskaloosa–Oliver Stanway (Jr., Leicester, England, Sports Management) weathered the conditions well en route to a medalist honor, and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week Monday.

Stanway earned his first-ever weekly honor by leading William Penn to a team victory at the Simpson Invitational last Wednesday.

The junior won the first title of his Statesmen career by posting a three-over 74 amidst the wind and cold.

For the year, Stanway owns a 76.1 stroke average over 13 rounds. He has nine rounds in the 60s and 70s, highlighted by a season-low 67. Stanway has finished in the top 10 on three occasions.

The award is the first for the program this year.
