Oskaloosa–Elayna VanArsdale (Jr., Bensalem, Pa., Secondary Education) hit a new personal best as she was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Monday.

VanArsdale won her first career weekly laurel after leading the Statesmen at the Baker Relays.

The junior won the hammer throw title with a personal-best toss of 138-9 and was also second in the discus at 116-4.

Currently, VanArsdale ranks fourth in the Heart in the hammer with last weekend’s winning mark. She is ninth in the discus (117-3) and 16th in the shot put (34-2.75) as well.

The weekly accolade is the second for the program this year.
