Statesmen Start Spring at #16

Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team will begin the spring season as one of the top squads in the nation as the NAIA’s third top-25 poll was released last Friday.
WPU dropped two spots from last fall’s position to #16 with 285 points. The squad won four tournaments last fall and was in the top 10 at the NAIA Preview.
The Statesmen are the only representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll.
Keiser (Fla.) remains first with 529 points and all 19 first-place votes. SCAD Savannah (Ga.) is second, while William Carey (Miss.), Dalton State (Ga.), and British Columbia round out the top five.
William Penn travels to St. Joseph, Mo. next Monday and Tuesday, March 18-19 to compete in the Holiday Inn Express Classic.
