Cleo DeWitt, 87, of Oskaloosa passed away Friday morning, September 14, 2018, at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.
Cleo Franklin DeWitt, son of Lecil Ray and Hannah (Schinerder) DeWitt, was born February 13, 1931, in Hedrick, Iowa.

Cleo attended school in Fremont, Iowa.

Cleo married Velma Jean Christophel January 24, 1952, at The First Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa.

Cleo worked for 32 years at Pella Corporation, lastly on the rip saw line. He retired in 1989.

Cleo was a member of the Elks Lodge for 48 years. He loved to cook for his family and will be remembered for several outstanding dishes including prime rib.

His family includes his wife of 66 years, Velma of Oskaloosa; his children: Gary (& Myrna) DeWitt of Virginia Beach, VA, Dennis DeWitt of Oskaloosa, and Bonnie (& Raymond) Richards of Oskaloosa; six grandchildren: Scott (& Sherry) DeWitt, Jim (& Joyce) DeWitt, Brandi (& Curt) Allen, Todd (& Mandi) Richards, Cynthia (& Aaron) Molyneux, and Cristina Fernandez; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorna Wolford of Illinois; and a brother, Willard (& Helen) DeWitt of Illinois.

In addition to his parents, Cleo was preceded in death by two daughters: Cindy DeWitt and Tammy Hootman; one great-grandchild, Taylor Allen; three brothers: Roger, Gale and Wilbur DeWitt; and a nephew, Richard Wolford Jr.

Funeral Services for Cleo will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma of the Good News Chapel officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after Noon, Tuesday morning. The family will greet visitors from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Memorials can be made to the MHP Hospice Serenity House.
