Altieri Remains First in Heart

Oskaloosa–John Altieri (Jr., Warwick, R.I., Sociology) continues to be the hunted as the NAIA’s first poll was released Wednesday.
The 125-pounder ranks first in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and ninth nationally. Sheldon Rodriguez (So., Tampa, Fla., Biology) is rated fifth in the Heart at 197 pounds, while Cody Jones (So., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Biology) is sixth at 184 pounds.
Overall, the Statesmen are sixth in the Heart rankings and 46th in the NAIA with 12 points.
Grand View leads the NAIA with 160 points, while Missouri Valley, Indiana Tech, Menlo (Calif.), and Providence (Mont.) round out the top five.
