The 7th Grade Volleyball team was in action on Saturday and again on Tuesday.

The A and B team traveled to Grinnell to face the Tigers and South Tama last Saturday. The girls would win all 4 matches. The A-team would move their record to 6-0 with a dominating performance against the Tigers winning all 3 games with scores of 21-11, 21-3, and 21-4. The team was led by Lucy Roach with 12 aces and 2 kills followed by Presley Blommers with 8 aces and 4 assists, Kaia Cook with 3 aces and 3 kills, Maleah Walker with 2 aces, Faith VanMersbergen with 1 kill and Kynedi Humphrey with 2 kills.

The girls would turn around and face a tough South Tama team, but would come out with another win to keep themselves undefeated at 7-0. They would take 2 of 3 with scores of 21-14, 22-20 and 4-21. The team was again led by Roach with 6 aces, 3 kills and 2 digs followed by Blommers with 6 aces and 4 digs, Cook with 1 kill and 1 dig, Walker with 3 kills and 4 digs, VanMersbergen with 1 ace, 3 kills and 6 digs, and Humphrey with 1 ace, 1 kill and 5 digs.

The B team would continue their winning ways with a victory over South Tama with scores of 21-10, 21-12 and 16-21. The team would be led by Audriana Ramos with 7 aces followed by Katelynn Marsh with 5 aces, Hailey Landers with 3 aces and Mallory Bihn and Ally Nolan with 2 each.

In the next match, the B team would look to avenge an earlier loss to the Tigers and would come out on top with scores of 21-15, 21-15 and 18-21. The team was led by Bihn and Ramos with 7 aces each followed by Marsh with 4 aces and Landers and Nolan with 3 each.

NEWTON

Last night, the girls would travel to Newton where all 3 teams would dominate and would take home 18 of 20 games.

The A-team was strong with their serve and swept all 5 games with scores of 15-3, 15-4, 15-5, 16-14, and 15-10 to move their record to 8-0. The team was led by Lucy Roach with 13 aces and 2 kills followed by Presley Blommers with 6 aces, Maleah Walker with 5 aces, 2 kills and 1 dig, Faith VanMersbergen with 3 aces and 2 digs, Kynedi Humphrey with 2 aces and 4 kills, and Kaia Cook with 2 aces and 1 kill.

The B-team would continue their winning streak and looking strong as the season moves forward with winning 4 out of 5 games. The scores were 15-6, 15-9, 15-9, 14-16, and 15-5. The team was led by Katelynn Marsh with 9 aces followed by Mallory Bihn and Hailey Landers with 4 aces each, Audriana Ramos and Ally Nolan with 3 aces each and Isabelle Fuller with 1 dig.

The C/D team would start a little slow the first game, but would come back and win 9 straight to take the match to continue their winning streak. The scores were 10-15, 15-8, 15-10, 15-13, 15-9, 15-8, 15-13, 15-6, 15-13, 15-8. The team was led by Mackenzie Whennen with 8 aces followed by Andalyn Ide with 6, Alley Bunnell and Macy Braden with 5 each, Morgan Ford and Lilly McKay with 3 each and Skylar Long-Meyer and Isabelle Larson with 2 each.

The teams will finish out the season next week with a home game against Pella on Monday at 4:30 and then will travel to Knoxville to finish out the season on Tuesday.
