Daily Film Project After School Camp

Teacher Allison McGuire teaches Gabe Gituma how to use a camera

OSKALOOSA, IA — Set your imagination loose at the George Daily Youth Theatre! The after school session comes to an end with the Daily Film Project starting the week of March 20th.

“Film is always fun and it’s what most kids interact with. It’s way easier for them to turn on a computer and see a video than it is to see a play. So it’s important to expose them to learning how to use it,” said Andy McGuire, Education Director.

The Daily Film Project challenges campers to spend six weeks creating a movie from scratch. Campers will write, act, direct, film, and edit each move for a showcase at the end of the session. They will work as a group to create their original masterpiece.

Different age groups will meet at different times throughout the week. On Mondays & Tuesdays, K-5th graders will meet from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. starting on March 20th. Campers in 6-8th grade will meet Thursdays & Fridays from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. starting on March 23rd.

Registration and payment will be accepted up to and on the first day of camp. If you would like to discuss need-based financial aid or alternate payment plans, those options are available. Please contact the Education Director Andy McGuire at 641-672-3795 or youth@georgedaily.org. More information and registration forms can be picked up at the George Daily Auditorium office or online at www.georgedaily.org under the Education tab.
