TRAVEL NOT ADVISED IN CENTRAL IOWA

Des Moines, IOWA — According to the Iowa State Patrol, roads have deteriorated significantly throughout the day and now travel is not advised in parts of central Iowa and the western half of the state.

Interstate 80 is impassable from Des Moines to the Nebraska border and travel is not advised from Grinnell to the Nebraska border. Travel is also not advised from the Missouri border to Story City.

A tow restriction is also in effect across most of the state and will be in place until at least Sunday or when conditions improve.
