Jackie Soutter, 55 of Colfax passed away peacefully Thursday morning, February 16, 2017 at the Grinnell Health Care Center. Jackie Lynn Soutter, the daughter of Eddie and JoAnn (Bell) Hodgson, was born on March 6, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jackie graduated from Colfax High School in 1979. She was married to Eric Soutter at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Laci and Dylan.

Jackie worked at the Newton Village Assisted Living and also did in home healthcare services.

Jackie enjoyed music and listening to Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger and Garth Brooks. She also enjoyed camping, Kayaking and her dogs. Jackie was a wonderful sister, mother and grandmother. Family and friends were a big part of her life and enjoyed spending time with them.

Her memory will be honored by her children: Laci (& David) Rolfes of Adair and Dylan Soutter of Colfax; her grandson, Paxson Rolfes of Adair; her brother, Tony (& Deb) Hodgson of Colfax; her sister, Joni (& Bob) Dille of Cofax; and many friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and JoAnn Hodgson.

As was her wish, her body has been donated to the University of Des Moines Deeded Body Program.
Memorial contributions may be made in the family’s name to be determined at a later date and to help with some of her final expenses and they may be sent to First State Bank of Colfax.
