William “Bill” Wonderlich, 75, of Ollie, died Monday, February 6, 2017, at the Knoxville Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville. He was born Tuesday, March 25, 1941, at the family farm north of Ollie, the son of Raymond and Clara Fritchen Wonderlich.

Bill graduated from Ollie High School with the Class of 1959. On July 23, 1961, Bill was united in marriage to Margaret Starr at the Ollie Methodist Church in Ollie.

Bill was the third generation of Wonderlich’s to farm the family farm which was homesteaded in Jackson Township in 1849.

Bill loved fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed antique tractors and visiting with people. Bill will be remembered for his ornery sense of humor. He also enjoyed going West to buy cattle and going to Canada on fishing trips.

Bill is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Margaret Wonderlich of Ollie; a son, Billy (& Jane) Wonderlich; a grandson, Cody Wonderlich of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Kathy Wonderlich of Indianola; a brother, Jim (& Wanda) Wonderlich of Ollie; a sister, Laura Tucker of Bondurant; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Austin Wonderlich; his mother and father-in-law, Leonard & Armena Starr; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Junior Starr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10, 2017, at 10 A.M. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont with Pastor Frosty Van Voorst officiating.
Burial will be in the Ollie Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Thursday, February 9, 2017, after noon in the Fremont Funeral Chapel with the family present at the funeral chapel Thursday from 5 – 7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers and if so inclined, the family asks that memorials be made to Bill’s family to be designated later.
