The Mahaska County Conservation Board invites you to come out to the Conservation Center at the Russell Wildlife Area to learn about owls and their special characteristics as birds of prey. Afterwards, we will go on a night hike to call for owls in the woods. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.

Did you know that you can talk to the owls living in town as well as in the country? It can be done! Come and you will learn how to make various owl calls.

The Russell Wildlife Area is located 2254 – 200th St., New Sharon, Iowa which is 4 miles north of Oskaloosa on Hwy. 63 and 1 mile east on 200th St.
